DETAILS:

The H.A.R.D. system is made up of two components: a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter has a six-inch power cord with a male RJ11 jack on the end. This cord plugs into the female RJ11 power jack located on the radar detector. These male and female RJ11 jacks look like those used on telephone systems. The H.A.R.D. System transmitter has a female RJ11 jack that the detector power cord plugs into. A green light on the transmitter indicates when the transmitter is sending a signal to the receiver. Total installation time for the transmitter is less than 10 seconds as it simply plugs ‘in-line’ with the existing detector wiring. The receiver is a miniature, battery operated device that can be placed inside a check pad or attached to the outside of the helmet. Just like a cell phone, the receiver has an on / off switch to maximize battery life. A green painted dot by the switch indicates if the receiver is in the on or off position. You can ride for 120 hours, which can be as much as 4,000 miles, between battery changes. The receiver has a long cord with the red LED warning light located at the end of the cord. This allows the small red LED warning light to be placed any where inside your peripheral vision. For units needing to be repaired outside the six (6) month warranty period, a fee of $55 is charged for the following:

DETAILS:

The driving force behind the development of the Adjustable Plate Mount (APM) was the non-existence of both functional and attractive mounting devices available for motorcycles. With the APM a motorcyclist now has the ability to purchase a universal fitting mount that looks like it was designed for motorcycles. When developing the APM, functionality and a clean, stylish design were the criteria needing to be met.

The purpose of the APM is to provide a flat mounting surface for devices. Once the device is secured to this flat surface, or ‘plate’, the plate can be adjusted to any angle and height needed to operate and view the device. A heavy duty Velcro strap is included to securely anchor the device.

The word ‘Adjustable’ is an understatement!. The APM has an infinite number of heights, positioning angles, and plate locations making it the perfect mount for riders having unique mounting requirements.

The APM is cut from a combination of billet steel and aluminum to provide strength and proper weight savings. Once tooled, all components are powder coated in a matte black finish. An optional polished version with a clear coat will provide the look of chrome. All hardware is stainless steel for long life and rust free aging.

DETAILS:

The Adjustable Windscreen Mount (AWM) was designed for motorcycles having a windscreen. The windscreen can have an angle ranging from being horizontal (as found on sport bikes) to being vertical (as found on cruisers). Once mounted to the windscreen, the AWM adjusts to provide a horizontal surface to place a gadget either on top of or underneath the AWM. The gadget is secured against the AWM by the use of rubber grips and a heavy duty Velcro strap.

It should be noted that the AWM has an infinite angle range. Once the AWM is mounted, the rider can tilt the AWM to the preferred angle to see and operate the gadget. The AWM is attached to the motorcycle windscreen by placing two small holes through the windscreen. Placing holes through the windscreen is easy and can be done without the chance of damage by using one of the three methods listed below:

1. A Dremel tool using any one of the many grinding / drilling bits.
2. A heated wire to ‘push through’ or melt a hole in the windscreen.
3. Using a professional shop familiar with modifying plastics.

The Adjustable Windscreen Mount (AWM) consists of the following components:

The AWM Plate and Brackets are tooled from billet aluminum. Once tooled, all parts are powder coated for long life and durability. All hardware components are stainless steel to avoid any chance of rust or discoloration. Once mounted to the windscreen, Hinged Screw Covers provide a factory OEM look and feel to the AWM. The gadget is anchored to the AWM by a heavy duty Velcro strap holding the gadget against a number of rubber grips.

Placing the radar detector inside the Radar Cover is easy and outlined in the following steps.

1. The Radar Cover bottom is placed on the motorcycle mount or shelf by using one of the included sets of 2” x 2” heavy duty Velcro.
2. The radar detector is secured in place on the bottom of the Radar Cover by using the included second set of 2” x 2” heavy duty Velcro.
3. The top of the Radar Cover is snapped in place over the radar detector. The two sets of 1” x 1” Velcro are used to anchor the top of the Radar Cover to the radar detector (this eliminates the chance of the top coming off while riding). In hot weather we recommend leaving the cover off, if rain is not expected.

The Radar Box is an enclosure that provides weather protection and security for all radar detectors.

1. Fits all Radar Detectors – All windshield mounted radar detectors sold today fit inside the Radar Box. This allows any automotive radar detector to be used on a motorcycle.

2. Weather and Damage Protection – The Radar Box places the radar detector inside a polycarbonate housing. This protects the radar detector from weather and other debris damage.

3. Security for the Radar Detector – The Radar Box covers the radar detector with a painted polycarbonate enclosure. This hides the radar detector from being seen by less-than-ethical people wanting your expensive detector.

4. Compatible with Existing Mounting Solutions – The Radar Box fits leading mounting solutions for motorcycles. If already using a RAM or similar mounting system, the Radar Box is 100% compatible which eliminates the expense of a new mounting system. RAM components not included with the Radar Box.

5. Compatible with Existing Shelf Systems – The Radar Box can be mounted directly to any flat surface. If a shelf system is mounted on the motorcycle, the Radar Box can be mounted directly on the shelf, which eliminates the expense of replacing the current shelf system.

DETAILS:

The Radar Box is made up of two main pieces: the top or enclosure section, and the bottom or plate.

The top of the Radar Box is a thermoformed polycarbonate enclosure. The enclosure is clear front and back and painted black on three sides to keep unwanted eyes off your radar detector.

The interior dimensions of the enclosure are 5.3 x 3.6 X 1.25 inches. This allows room for the longest detector, the Escort 8500 X50, and the widest, the Valentine. The Radar Box is sized to allow for use of the H.A.R.D. System. The H.A.R.D. System transmitter can be placed inside the Radar Box along with the detector.

The bottom or "plate" is made from high-impact UV - resistant polypropylene. The plate has two blind countersunk holes drilled that can be used to attach a RAM ball (RAM components not included with the Radar Box) or to screw onto a flat surface -- you just need to finish drilling the hole.

Placing the radar detector inside the Radar Box is easy and outlined in the following steps.

1. The radar detector is secured in place on the plate using Velcro (included). The securing of the detector to the plate avoids movement by the detector inside the enclosure.
2. The enclosure is placed over the plate.
3. Four thumbscrews are inserted to hold the enclosure to the plate and make it easy to open and close the Radar Box.

On all cars, the passenger side view mirror states, “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.”  Well for us motorcyclists many times the opposite is true.  As a matter of fact, many times those vehicles behind us seem to be getting farther away.  Must be some type of gravity or earth rotation thing.  To make sure we recognize this fact, it is time we have a mirror statement of our own.

By using the Escort Direct Wire Cord on the bike, the Escort radar detector can easily move between the car and bike without worrying if a power cord will be there. The Escort Direct Wire Cord is always on the bike and the cigarette lighter power cord (this was included with the Escort radar detector) will be in the car.
