LEGAL SPEEDING Testimonials
Every once in a great while you stumble upon a product that really gets you excited, and yours is certainly such a product! We placed this first quantity order because one of our regular customers brought your product to our attention. Now that I have installed and tested it on my own bike and helmet, I am amazed at how simple, effective, and cool it actually is! This is truly the most efficient way to get the signal from the detector to the brain! For years I have used an Escort 7500 remotely mounted in the glove box of my R1150RT, with an earpiece wire routed up to the inside of my helmet. Gone are the earplug/speaker wires, and the aggravation of accidentally yanking out the wires when walking away from the bike. Gone is the neccessity of leaving out one earplug so you can hear the earpiece in your helmet. One of my friends installed a 100db loudspeaker for his radar detector on his GS, and I can see him throwing that away once he sets up this little unit! No need to announce to the world that your detector is going off when you can receive a discrete "heads-up" red flash in the corner of your eye, that only you can see! Simple, great quality, so easy to install...and it performs flawlessly! Thanks for a great innovative product! Paul DiMarchi Owner, Hi all - I ordered your product a few days ago from RadarBusters, after receiving my first ticket on a bike. I installed the detector and HARD system a few days later, and couldn't be happier. I could not find a comfortable way to slip the receiver behind the padding of my Arai Signet. What I ended up doing was taking the cheekpad out, carving a small rectangular space in the foam just the size of the box, putting the unit into that space & taping it up. The cheekpad is still the same size, and will provide only minimally less protection. The product works exactly as advertised, and I'd imagine a number of folks I ride with will be interested in it as well. AC from San Jose, CA Aaron, I have ridden now for a few weeks with my new HARD system and I'm very satisfied. I especially like that the LED doesn't distract but is almost like an unconscious alert. A satisfied customer, Nils M. Aaron, Just a quick update on my unit. I used it for my last 2,000 mile trip to Utah. It worked very well with my Valentine One detector by giving me a "heads up" alert when the V-1 got a signal. Probably saved me 2 tickets and maybe 6 hours of driving time by allowing me to go faster. At first I found the light hard to aim so that I would get a good bright light. In a few minutes of bending the stalk, I was able to mount it in both my Arai and HJC flip up lid. The light is very noticeable by putting a red dot directly in my vision. Also the helmet unit was completely buried in the helmet and could not be felt. This is a great product. Gene M. Aaron, The (H.A.R.D.) System is the bomb, the few times I've been out (I'm really sick of all the rain) it's quite the toy. The first day I got it I went out for a test ride after dark and all of a sudden it went off. The red light kinda freaked me out at first. I thought that I had a cop behind me with his REDS on and instantly realized it was the system then I just chuckled to myself "he he he !" Sport Bike night was this past Thursday at a pizza place at the TwinCities, everyone mingles and walks around looken at bikes. I' ve got my detector mounted above my speedo and tach. Two guys said "good idea but Isnt it hard to see? Don't you have to take your eyes off the road?" I showed them the receiver and explained it to them and the one guy looked at the other and said "See we shoulda signed up with that guy at the cycle show! Yea, I know but it sounded to good to be true." Anyway I gave them your web address. Thanks a million! Will keep in touch,
To member of an on-line discussion group: As you know, LegalSpeeding is selling this wireless LED device that alerts you when your radar detector sounds the alarm. It fits up under the padding inside your helmet and you place the light in your peripheral vision. I bought one and gave it to my older son to test drive, since he is now returning from a 15-day road trip from S.F. through Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado. The report is that the LED device works like a champ. My son said that yesterday it saved him from two sure-deal tickets, picking up the police each time, well before they were in sight. When he started his trip, the LED wasn't here yet, so he used a Y splitter from the Passport 8500 to an iPod, and then to ER-6 earplugs (which cut out 15 db of ambient sound and allow a sound source to pass through). So, for the first five days of his ride, my son used the earplug alert, which worked just fine-- the 8500 signal, on low volume, easily overriding the music. The LED caught up with him in Taos, NM and he's been using it ever since. It makes for a nice, clean installation-- no wires to your helmet unless you want to hear music. It's pricey at $159.95, but tickets cost a lot, too. We were planning on riding together from Dallas to Hot Springs, but he totaled his BMW 1100S late Thursday night. He was OK, but had to postpone any riding until he aquires another bike. The system worked flawlessly for several days, until I got into a rainstorm, and literally soaked the receiver mounted under my visor. Normally, the small receiver with the flashing LED resides inside a full face helmet, but I wear an open face that necessitated mounting the receiver under my visor. Anyway, I returned home without a working unit. This morning I took the receiver apart, dried it out with a hairdryer, replaced the battery, and lo and behold, it works! I can certainly recommend the unit for anyone with an Escort or Valentine radar detector. Larry G. 6/27/02 Your new Gen III performed flawlessly. The system even lit up when I had a momentary Ka signal that bounced off of a car in front of me. I have routed my Escort 8500 audio into my Autocom Pro I audio system, so I can hear as well as see the alerts. My audio system did not pick up the signal since it was so short of a duration but your HARD system did alert me. Your system works well with the Autocom, as the Escort only beeps a couple of times before going into automatic mute function, yet your system continues to flash until the signal is clear. I will be sending back your Gen II system later today, you should receive it shortly. Thanks for your help and the exchange. Paul S. 6/28/02 Hi Aaron. Not sure if you remember, I have a Gen 3 H.A.R.D. system and was having trouble with it working with my older V1 and concealed display. Upgraded to the latest V1 and everything works great. Been using it a while now and like it a lot. Worth EVERY penny. Andy B. 9/23/02 . . . If you are looking for testimonials I have one that will beat your best! I was on our local cruise street here in OKC, N.W. 39th, with a number of other bikes, probably 25 or so, a week ago Saturday. We decided to move about 4 or 5 blocks down the road to meet up with some other sport bikes just down the street. Everyone quickly threw their helmets on, and I, not wishing to fool around with the wire and ear bud only to go a few blocks, wrapped it around the master cylinder piece on the top of my handlebars. We zipped down there and I started to swing around in a very low speed turn since there were several hundred people in the parking lot milling around. When I went to make a U turn the cord limited my turning of the bars just enough that at less than 5mph I fell over! In front of hundreds of people like a squid on a Harley just learning to ride! It hurt my ego, my ass (strained hamstring) and scratched up my bike. So please feel free to ship as soon as possible so I don't have to endure all the ribbing I am getting from my friends. LOL. If you want to give me a break on the price and start a testimonial section you won't find a better example of how going wireless may just save your Butt as well as your motor vehicle record! Just don't use my real name for godsake. Thanks again, (Squid's name withheld by request) The 4th generation is TERRIFIC! I can't rave enough about it! This latest version addresses all my past concerns. I can put the receiver down in the corner of my face cutout, and will see it flash, no matter where my eyes are. I also appreciate the added "blink time," which makes the signal more noticeable. The old version worked pretty well, but this new setup is ÔquantumsÕ better. I used it all the way home from Daytona, and couldn't be happier with the way it performed. I'll spread the word about this excellent product and your great after-sale support. I hope you sell thousands of the units. Keep me posted on future updates/new products. I'm a big fan of yours. Conrad K. March 13, 2003
